Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Competition

Do you love writing science-fiction or fantasy stories?

We’re offering writers an exciting opportunity to enter a free competition with the chance to get their stories published in a new anthology commissioned by The Word as part of WRITE Festival 2020.

The competition invites aspiring writers to submit short, science-fiction or fantasy stories up to 3,000 words in length.

The shortlisted stories will be published in paperback by Sixth Element Publishing, and there will be cash prizes for the three top placed stories (1st place £100, 2nd place £50 and 3rd place £25).

The competition is free to enter (one entry per person) and stories must not have been published previously elsewhere. Writers must be aged over 18. The deadline for submissions will be midnight on Monday 9 December 2019.
