Suitable for 12-19 year olds
Join writer and theatre maker Becci Sharrock as she explores the key elements of play writing and writing for performance. The workshop will be a whistle stop tour of everything from generating ideas and creating complex characters, through to plot and structure. Exercises will be a mix of rapid response practical writing exercises and discussion.
The workshop is FREE but you will need to book your place.
About Becci Sharrock
Becci has worked for Live Theatre, Northern Stage, Theatre Sans Frontieres, New Writing North and ARC, Stockton. She has been commissioned by Alphabetti Theatre, Made In Corby and Cultural Spring. Recent writing credits include; Northern Pulse (Film Poem, Great Exhibition of the North, N18 Programme), Living Legends: Hidden Histories (Published book & exhibition, commissioned by Made In Corby), Letters to Myself (Writer & Producer, National Tour). She was previously the Writer-in-Residence at Beamish Museum.
She is currently under commission from Queen’s Hall Hexham to adapt The Secret Garden for family audiences and her co-commissioned interactive installation Deep Sea Adventures opened at The Hullabaloo in November, with immersive pop-up performances taking place in April 2020.
