Always wanted to write and publish your own novel? Join Gillie Hatton of Sixth Element Publishing for a full day of friendly and informal sessions giving an introduction to the basics of novel writing and publishing. By the end of the day, you will be familiar with the importance of plot structure, character development, point of view and tense, and will have the basic knowledge to publish, distribute and promote your own novel. Ideal for new fiction writers who want to self-publish their books but would also be useful for anyone wanting to know more about writing and publishing fiction or non-fiction.
This event takes place on Saturday 2 September, 10.15am-4.30pm. Tickets £10 for the full day
Schedule:
- 10.15 to 10.45am – Arrival, registration and coffee, introductions and goal setting
- 10.45 to 11.30am – Basics of plot structure, character development, point of view and tense
- 11.45 to 12.30am – How to publish your own book
- 12.45 to 1.30pm – Lunch and networking
- 1.45 to 2.30pm – Setting up distribution channels
- 2.45 to 3.30pm – Marketing and selling your book
- 3.45 to 4.30pm – Wrap up and discussion
