White Ribbon Day
Free, booking required.
Suitable for ages 16+
White Ribbon Day campaigns to end violence against women and girls. As part of the campaign, we are hosting an event to raise awareness. Helen Aitchison, who worked in the domestic abuse field for twenty years, prior to becoming a published author, will talk about how writing can be used to raise awareness of social issues and a platform to campaign. Debut author, Brigid Griffin will share how she hopes issues in her first book, When the Small Creatures Wake, will help to give a voice to people experiencing domestic abuse and other social issues. The authors will be joined by Julie Robinson, from local domestic abuse support organisation, Impact Family Services.
There will be a chance to ask questions, get information on support services, and buy signed copies of Helen’s and Brigid’s books.
