Find out about the history of forensic science dating from the early period of discovery.

The session will explore three nationally important criminal cases demonstrating how fingerprinting and the collection of Trace Evidence (fibres and fragments) brought about the detection of each.

  • Fingerprinting – Great Train Robbery
  • Trace Evidence – The Soham Murders
  • DNA evidence –  A6 Murder James Hanratty
