£12 per person

Suitable for ages 16+

Booking Required

Join Emma Whitehall in this two part workshop where you will learn how to develop your voice for young adult fiction.

This is a two part workshop which takes place on:

  • Tuesday 7 February, 6-7.30pm
  • Tuesday 21 February, 6-7.30pm

Please note: By booking a ticket you are booking to attend both sessions.

The sessions will explore why it’s important to read young adult fiction if you plan to write it. Emma will also provide examples from her book Clockwork Magpies, where you will explore what hooks you into these characters from their dialogue? What do you learn about their personality? Their world? There will also be a writing exercise where you will select a character profile and write a short passage in the characters voice. You can then read out your work and get feedback, Emma will also assign some ‘homework’ to do before the second session. There will be opportunities in the sessions to ask Emma any questions you may have.
