See a selection of South Shields buildings recreated in LEGO®

Little Landmarks, on display in our smaller exhibition space, showcases 10 LEGO® models of local buildings from across South Shields, originally displayed at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery in 2017. The models demonstrate the depth and variety of architecture present in the town, ranging from Roman reconstructions to modern glass structures.

Choosing just ten buildings was incredibly difficult and there are many more beautiful and fascinating structures in the town! South Shields and the wider area of South Tyneside has buildings with a rich array of architectural styles.

The ten landmarks that feature in the exhibition are:

• The Herd Groyne Lighthouse
• The Old Town Hall
• Arbeia West Gate
• The Customs House
• The Word
• Haven Point
• South Shields Museum and Art Gallery
• South Shields Town Hall
• St Hilda’s Church
• Souter Lighthouse
• Volunteer Life Brigade Watch House

The exhibition is open until Sunday 14 April 2024
