Come along to this talk at Cleadon Park Library with John Yearnshire as he explains unusual cases and how evidence brought the culprit to justice.
The cases include the ‘FIRST’ successful cases in criminal history using scientific evidence; first murder case proven with fingerprints; first murder case solved with mass fingerprinting, first burglary case proven with fingerprints, unusual first case solved by use of toe print, first case proved by use of plantar impression and the first murder case solved by use of mass photography.
About John Yearnshire
John spent 21 years a crime scene investigator, dealing with over 80 murders and major incidents in his career. Upon retirement he taught at the National Police Training Centre for Crime Scene Investigators. He holds both a BA(Hons) and a Masters Degree. He researches and publishes social history books having just published his 12th covering the local history of the ‘Williamsons of East Markham, Monkwearmouth and Whitburn’.
