Get ready for lots of festive fun!

It’s beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS! Our decorations are now up around the building and we’re ready for our festive events to begin!

We’ll be starting the festivities with our Christmas choirs in the atrium – choirs from across South Tyneside will be joining us over the coming weeks to perform Christmas tunes old and new for all to enjoy!

On Saturday 30 November we have some great events taking place. You can appear in your own Christmas card through the magic of green screen as the Christmas Card Booth returns between 10am-4pm. Then from 1-4pm those aged 16 and over can learn how to create a personalised Christmas Eve box in our FabLab (these will make for great Christmas Eve boxes for your little ones).

The weekends of fun continue throughout December with our Create and Design for Christmas sessions in FabLab on 7 and 14 December. Drop-in between 10am and 3pm and create something festive using our laser cutters. On 7, 14 & 21 December we have Christmas arts and crafts in the atrium between 11am-1pm.

Whilst you’re visiting make sure you to check out our exhibition which celebrates 25 years of The Customs House pantomime. There’s also a pantomime-themed trail around the building that’s free to enjoy. The play pod on our children’s floor has been turned into a gingerbread house and inside children can write a letter to Santa. As well as this, children can do our Christmas activity sheets in our Kids’ Activity Area. You can also pick up a selection of great Christmas gifts in Shop @ The Word and order personalised items made in our FabLab!
