Join Karen Lloyd, author of The Blackbird Diaries, for a leisurely afternoon stroll in North Marine Park looking for birds and favourite garden wildlife.
After the walk, you will head back to The Word where Karen will read from her book and discuss why we value our closest avian neighbours and the importance of the wider world of nature.
Make sure to bring your binoculars if you have them!
There will also be complimentary tea/coffee to enjoy.
*Please note: you will meet at The Word and make your way to the park from there.
About Karen Lloyd
Karen Lloyd is an award-winning writer and environmental activist based in Cumbria. Her first book, The Gathering Tide: A Journey Around the Edgelands of Morecambe Bay, won the Striding Edge Productions Prize for Place in The Lakeland Book of the Year Awards 2016. The Blackbird Diaries is an intimate account of the wildlife in Lloyd’s edge-of-town garden, the South Lakes landscape, the Solway coast and the Hebridean islands of Mull and Staffa.
